🌿 Celebrating Achievement: Jack Petchey Environmental Award – Mitchell Hambi 🌿
We are delighted to celebrate Mitchell Hambi, winner of the Jack Petchey Environmental Award!
Mitchell joined Our Barn Community in March this year, keen to get active and involved in his local community. Since then, he has gone from strength to strength—enthusiastically taking part in Youth Club activities, contributing to the Digital Inclusion Team, and most becoming an important member of the Gardening Team at Blondin Pavilion.
It’s in the garden where Mitchell has truly shone. He has settled in wonderfully, building great connections with others and showing increased confidence and engagement at every session. His team’s dedication has already made a visible impact—earning a Third Place Award from the Ealing Biodiversity Awards for Gardens and Green Spaces 2025. for their impressive work in such a short time. Together, they’ve helped transform the Pavilion’s flower beds through safety litter picking, light landscaping, and ongoing efforts to create a more welcoming, sustainable space for everyone.
Mitchell’s teamwork, and commitment to improving the environment have rightly earned him this recognition. He and his fellow gardeners are now working toward an exciting goal: Keeping Blondin Pavilion a Green Flag destination for all.
Mitchell will attend the Jack Petchey Achievement Awards in November to receive his award alongside other inspiring winners.
