One Year, One Community, One Home

Celebrating One Year of Our Barn Community at Blondin Park Community Pavilion

Our Barn Community is proud to celebrate one wonderful year at the Blondin Park Community Pavilion. Since moving in, we have truly settled, embraced our surroundings, and fallen in love with life at the Pavilion. From the very beginning, we’ve been getting stuck in, trying new things, and creating experiences we hope the community loves and engages with.

We like to think we’ve brought a little Our Barn Community magic with us — from delicious brownies that might just rival the must-have cupcakes, to a warm and friendly atmosphere that keeps people coming back. Our team is feeling very much at home and has worked hard to enhance the space both inside and out, helping to make the Pavilion somewhere people enjoy spending time.

One of the highlights of the year has been getting to know our locals and welcoming new faces every day. Word has spread on the grapevine that the Pavilion is open for business — and that the lunch club is thriving! It’s been a joy to see the space buzzing with life.

We’re incredibly proud to have been part of achieving and maintaining a 5-star health and hygiene rating. This was a true team effort, with everyone involved in the consortium working together to ensure our customers and community receive the very best service.

Our move over the border into Ealing has also brought with it some wonderful new friendships. We’ve loved growing connections with organisations such as the Youth Engagement Programme and West London Performing Arts, to name just a couple of our lovely friends.

Feedback from our customers has been heart-warming. Justine described the Pavilion as “a much warmer environment,” and comments like this remind us why we do what we do. It’s humbling and enriching to see Our Barn Community members thriving in the workplace — busy, hard-working, helpful, and always full of humour. Seeing Edward every week is a particular highlight for many of us.

Together with the consortium, we continue working to make the Pavilion a welcoming hub where the community wants to gather — hosting parties, playing sports, or simply relaxing with a nice cuppa of Curious Roo coffee. Although it’s only been a year, it truly feels like we’ve always been part of this community.

As 2026 gets underway, we’d like to thank everyone for their patience and support as we settled in. The gardeners are aiming for even more awards, our young volunteers are ready for the year ahead, and our team continues to shine: Edward loves serving customers, Virginia delights everyone with her baking, Ben and Joyrich champion our digital inclusion offer, and all of us remain committed to growing, developing, and delivering the very best of Our Barn Community.

Here’s to many more years of nutritious lunches (we think people really love the stir-it-up recipes!), strong partnerships, and serving our community with warmth, care, and pride.
