The Our Futures team recently visited Age UK Hounslow to revamp the garden intended for the day centre members. Initially neglected and unusable, we collaborated with Beth, the day centre manager, who shared her vision for the garden.
Tasks were extensive, involving weeding, clearing debris, and overall tidying of the area. To enhance the sensory experience, we planted aromatic herbs and flowers, alongside the installation of a bird feeder. Additionally, we created instructional signs to guide users on maximizing the garden space effectively.
The collective effort and hard work from everyone were met with satisfaction from Beth, who expressed delight with the transformation. Our hope is for Beth to further develop the garden, benefiting the day centre members even more.
