Bridging the Digital Gap

By Kinan P

I am a volunteer at the Digital Inclusion Workshop at the Pump and Grind Coffee Shop café inside the London Museum of Water and Steam. Throughout my days volunteering on Fridays, I have enjoyed helping people to improve on their digital skills, as well as learning a thing or two myself. I find it very useful to interact with people and David from Our Barn as well as Karen have also been supportive in this aspect. I definitely enjoy coming here and I recommend more people to volunteer if they have the skills or to ask for help if needed since both the staff and volunteers are very friendly.

Also, volunteers looking to improve their IT skills or even people seeking help for IT skills will be able to do so. There is even a 10% discount on food and drink if you give the flyer to the café, which is a community-run by other Our Barn volunteers and Vicky.

Every Week we support the community to help with online tasks. For example, we help people to use email, shop online or renew prescriptions. Our Barn as well as our wonderful digital champions will support with setup and first steps to help with these various tasks.

We encourage you to come and join us every Friday [term time only] from 12 pm-2 pm at Pump & Grind Coffee Shop inside the London Museum of Water & Steam. Green Dragon Lane. Brentford. TW8 0EN.
