Friday Pump & Grind Team Reflections

🌟 A Journey of Creativity, Learning, and Community 🌟

The Friday Café Team at Pump & Grind has had an incredible journey, filled with memorable moments and shared experiences that have brought out the best in everyone.

🍰 Baking Adventures:
One of our favourite highlights was baking—especially the brownies! It was a fantastic way to bond as a team and enjoy the sweet results of our hard work.

🥪 Culinary Highlights:
Amara shined while making sandwiches and delicious soup, showcasing his passion and creativity. Coffee training with Ealing’s Latte Art Champion, Jason, was an insightful experience that elevated our skills and coffee game! Preparing lunches to be professional and presentable was a skill we’re proud to have developed.

🎨 Creative Touches:
Every Friday, doodling on the blackboard allowed us to unleash our creativity in a fun and unique way.

👨‍🍳 Grateful for the Hounslow Seniors Chefs:
These skilled and friendly chefs shared their knowledge and kindness with us, creating a wonderful learning environment.

💻 Hosting Digital Inclusion Projects:
We were thrilled to host digital inclusion laptop sessions with the Sybil Elgar Digital Dudes, Brad, John, and volunteers like Gurpreet from Blue Summit Tech. It was a meaningful way to bridge the digital divide.

🎲 Community Fun and Diverse Events:
From board games to preparing for Stay and Play, seeing under-5s getting involved was pure joy. A special thank you to Hisea for running the Stay and Play sessions for under-5s and making them so much fun and engaging!

🌍 Memorable Visitors:
Meeting people from all walks of life, including Amanda Holden, Kyle Soller, Hounslow Mayor Toni Luki, and many others, made every day special.

🐦 Favorite Spaces and Friends:
Sarah shared how much she’ll miss the space, including the Peregrine Falcon, Piper the Cat, and the amazing museum staff and volunteers like Anita and Elizabeth.

👥 Personal Reflections:

Amara: “I have loved the coffee, the people, and the place.”
Andre: “I’m going to miss running the community café, the people, and the London Museum of Water and Steam.”
Sarah: “It has taught me new skills, from communicating with the public to working in a team and improving my key skills. Hosting new projects in a wonderful community has been a joy.”
It’s been a pleasure seeing Andre’s creativity, Amara’s determination, and Sarah’s growth. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this incredible journey. We’ll carry these memories in our hearts. ❤️
