The Snowdrop symbolizes innocence and purity because it is the first flower to bloom at the end of winter, and the beginning of spring, it also symbolizes hope.
There are more than 2500 varieties of snowdrops. Snowdrops originate in mainland Europe, and are believed to have been introduced to England around the beginning of the 16th centaury.
The Snowdrops is poisonous to animals. Due to the bulbs likeness to the onion the snowdrop can often be eaten, and can consequently poison its nibbler.
