Garden of Joy at The London Museum of Water and Steam

Farewell to Jubilee Lodge

After 8 enriching years at Jubilee Lodge, the Our Barn team bids a fond farewell. Our time here has been filled with numerous memorable experiences:

  • Interacting with Wildlife: We’ve enjoyed the presence of ducks and birds, enhancing our connection with nature.
  • Orchard Planting: Cultivating the orchard has been a rewarding endeavour, watching it flourish over the years.
  • Creative Sessions: Half-term creative sessions have sparked our creativity and strengthened our bonds.
  • Environmental Stewardship: Keeping the park clear of rubbish and exploring nature has instilled a sense of responsibility and wonder in all of us.
  • Teamwork: Working together on various projects has fostered a strong sense of community.
  • Gardening: We’ve delighted in maintaining and growing flowers, shrubs, herbs, and vegetables, creating our own soil, and engaging in activities like bird bingo and crafting.

New Beginnings at the London Museum of Water and Steam

As we move to our new garden at the London Museum of Water and Steam, we are ready to embrace new challenges and opportunities. The Our Futures Team has been diligently relocating all of our equipment and plants to our new shed. The plans for our new space are exciting and filled with promise.

Exciting Plans for the Future

Our new garden will continue to foster community spirit and environmental awareness. We are looking forward to:

  • Gardening Projects: We will continue growing a variety of plants and creating a vibrant garden space in the LMWS.
  • Community Engagement: The new location will allow us to engage with a broader community, sharing our love for nature and gardening

A Word from Our Head Gardener

When asked if gardening is fun, Cathy Child, our head gardener, responded enthusiastically:

“Oh, yes, we have a lot of fun. Gardening is good for us as a group, the community, and it achieves a lot together.”

We are excited about this new chapter and look forward to the growth and development it will bring. Thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout our journey at Jubilee Lodge. We invite you to join us as we embark on this exciting adventure at the London Museum of Water and Steam.
