Jack Petchey Achievement Award – Joyrich
Sir Jack Petchey CBE set up the Foundation to encourage young people in London and Essex to work hard and reach their full potential. He believed each and every young person should be given the chance to achieve. As he always said; “If you think you can, you can!” The Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme, recognises outstanding young people ages 11-25 across London and Essex
Joyrich is an exceptionally kind and dedicated young man who truly embodies perseverance. A valued member of the Digital Inclusion Team at Our Barn Community, Joyrich stands out for his outstanding customer service, calm demeanour, and remarkable communication skills. Whether helping someone troubleshoot a tech issue or leading a group session, he brings a reassuring presence and a solutions-focused mindset.
Since Our Barn’s move from the London Museum of Water & Steam to Blondin Pavilion, Joyrich has stepped into a quiet leadership role, especially in the absence of the Blue Summit team members, Brad and John. He took initiative and built a cohesive new team with Mitchell, Michael, and Laurence, fostering collaboration, support, and confidence among his peers.
Joyrich is not only a tech whiz; he’s also fun, creative, and consistently optimistic. He brings an infectious energy that lifts the whole community. His contributions extend beyond the digital team—he has even represented Our Barn in the Community Cup football match, where his teamwork and support for others were genuine and heart-warming.
Joyrich is an absolute joy to work with. His commitment to sharing his IT skills, supporting his peers, and quietly stepping up as a leader makes him a truly deserving nominee for the Jack Petchey Achievement Award.
