Well, its nearly Christmas and we have been so busy for the past month at the Pump & Grind Coffee Shop and here is all our news.
We have two new members of staff Philip and Helen. They have been with us for a few weeks and are really enjoying their time learning new skills and adding valuable experience to their CVs. Philip is proving to be quite the chef and is great at getting all the salad ready for Lunch. Helen is a great baker and has been baking lots of delicious cakes ready for the weekends!
A few of our staff have moved onto the job club now they have finished at the Café. We would like to give a massive thank you to Younis and Rhythm for the time they have been with us, they are busy applying for paid roles and we will continue to support and help them as they go forward to new adventures!
Alongside the café, we have been asked to cater for a few events and one has been at the winter wonderland in Isleworth. We made 150 quiches for the event and Philips mum made enough Lemon Polenta cake for 150 people! It was a wonderful event and really put us all in the Christmas spirit! [Recipe on a separate post]
The museum had a visit from you-know-who last weekend and everybody got into the Christmas spirit, including our resident elf, Rob.
Last week we were lucky enough to be asked to go for a Christmas lunch at Twickenham Stadium. We all dressed to impress in our Christmas jumpers and enjoyed a wonderful Christmas lunch and a tour of the stadium. Afterwards, we all had fun doing a bit of Christmas shopping in the shop.
Finally, We are so happy to report that Ishaan has been offered a paid job in Stroud where his family live. He has been a great and very valuable member of the team and we wish him the best of luck in his new job. [He tells us about it in a separate post]
So that’s just a few of the things we have been getting up to and we are looking forward to lots of new exciting projects in the future. To all our supporters and customers please have a wonderfully peaceful holiday and we can’t wait to see you all in the new year!
