We’re thrilled to share some wonderful news—and even more thrilled to have caught up with the ever-inspiring Xavie Dyson during his recent Out and About trip to The House of Japan in Central London.. Xavie is a very active member of the Our Barn Community programmes and attends Youth Club, Out & About & Film Club, to name but a few…
We found a quiet spot under a tree where Xavie was happy to sit down and chat. With his usual warmth and enthusiasm, he shared stories from his paid role as a Lobby Ambassador at Hilton London Kensington—a position he’s incredibly proud of and one where he truly shines.

Xavie spoke passionately about his journey, his deep appreciation for the Hilton team, and the joy he feels each day welcoming guests and helping them feel at home.
“I love my job,” Xavie said, smiling as he reflected on his achievements.
And he truly does. Xavie’s story is a powerful reminder of what’s possible with the right support, hard work, and a workplace that champions inclusion.
A Warm Welcome Awaits at Hilton London Kensington
If you’re ever lucky enough to stay at the Hilton London Kensington, you may be greeted by one of the hotel’s brightest stars—Xavie Dyson, a proud Our Barn Community member and an exceptional representative of the Hilton team.
Dressed in his smart blue suit, waistcoat, tie, and crisp white shirt, Xavie brings energy and professionalism to the role. Whether he’s guiding guests to their rooms or offering a friendly smile in the sparkling lobby, he makes sure every visit starts on a high note.
Since starting paid employment in September 2025, Xavie has become a well-loved and valued member of the Hilton family. His daily commute via Clapham Junction, one of the UK’s busiest railway stations, is a journey he embraces with pride and independence.
A Team Built on Support and Inclusion
Xavie flourishes in a workplace where inclusivity and camaraderie are at the heart of the culture. He works alongside colleagues who’ve become close friends—Sean, Lunar, Sam, Anthony, and Ahmed—creating a truly welcoming atmosphere for every guest.
Xavie’s success reflects not just his commitment but also the vital support he’s received through his journey.
A Pathway to Success
Xavie’s achievements are also a testament to the impact of the Mencap Training Academy, which supported him for two years through both a pre-internship and supported internship programme.
“I really wanted to join the programme because I wanted Mencap to help me find a job and gain some work experience,” says Xavie.
It was his mum who first helped him find the programme—and since then, he hasn’t looked back. Now working in a job he loves, Xavie is an inspiration for others hoping to build their own career pathways in inclusive, supportive environments.
Thank You, Xavie
